Welcome to the Victoria Falls.

A visit to Victoria Falls has an ever-lasting impact on you. It's kind of an addiction and I have an unflinching passion about this beautiful City, Country and it’s People. 

About my background. I was born in Zimbabwe and grew up with my family until we decided to emigrate. I now reside in sunny UK… 

We never got a chance to visit Victoria Falls when living in Zimbabwe and I think it's that thing that often when you live in your own birth country you always want to travel abroad. When living in Zimbabwe we travelled often to the beach to Durban, South Africa or to Beira, Mozambique. 

My first trip to the falls was in 1994 so this year marks the 31st anniversary. I've returned to the falls now on 15 occasions. Likely, I probably hold the highest record of the number of times a foreign traveller has visited Victoria Falls. 

There have been changes since my first visit in 1994 however Victoria Falls still holds its beauty, offers an amazing experience, and makes for a great holiday. There's always something new that I haven't previously explored. Whether it's a new photographic angle of the falls, an adventure into a township, a discovery of something from the past, a siting of wildlife or even something new to the menu in one of the fantastic restaurants or hotels, I just find it all intriguing. I’ve met good people in Victoria Falls over the years from the local communities, businesses and hospitality establishments. Several of them have become good, close friends.

I’ve helped many people abroad plan their visits to Victoria Falls over the years. From creating itineraries to recommending the best viewpoints, activities, attraction’s, accommodation and eateries. It’s been an absolute pleasure doing this. Friends and family have encouraged me to release a book of my own based on my knowledge and experience of Victoria Falls over the years.

So, the objective of my book is to promote a natural interest in the history of Victoria Falls and how it is nowadays. Hence the title “Bridging Past & Present”.

This is not guide but an arrangement of some of the history of Victoria Falls and my experiences incorporating amazing views of the falls, the mighty Zambezi and details of the great people, art and culture, community support and development and some of the superb hospitality establishments. I’m an avid photographer so most of the photography in the book is my own. 

There are many search engines that can provide statistics, data and geography on the City. I’ve chosen to give a freshened perspective and more exciting view of Victoria Falls. My book has some interesting detail and events that have previously had little or no exposure.…

Like comfort food, it's a comfort read. It's a good reference for when planning a visit for the first time or if you're planning a re-turn visit.

If you’re one to have the “bucket list” phenomena, then Victoria Falls is clearly the place you need to visit and should top your list.
