TOXIC PLASTIC WASTE
Pollution and let’s talk plastic, sadly affects the Zambezi river and Victoria falls. And yes, understandably it also has a global impact.
It's killing our fish, river plants, wildlife and bird life in and surrounding the Zambezi river. An agonising slow death either by ingestion, entanglement, or the introduction of harmful chemicals into the Zambezi. It's a destruction of the ecosystem. The discarded Plastic water bottles, plastic big brand carbonated soft drink bottles and or alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverages are the main suspects, either thrown into the river, chucked out on the road or side paths or sent to the landfill dumpsite in Vic Falls; they’re just bad news
TIPS WHEN VISITING VIC FALLS
- Drink loads of water and refreshments during the day and night in Vic Falls and surrounds
- Try and avoid using plastic bottles for drinking

- If you see litter, pick it up and dispose into the designated bins
- If you see a bin is open or has an unsecured lid, hold on to your waste until you find the correct and secure refuse bin
- Use reusable, non plastic shopping bags when doing any shopping
